Overview

High-Performing, Affordable Endpoint Solutions built on Raspberry Pi CM5 for Citrix, Omnissa Horizon, RDP, AVD, Windows 365 Cloud PC, and NComputing Desktop Virtualization Platforms.

The RX540 and RX580 thin clients provide optimized connectivity to multiple virtualization platforms. Leveraging the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, they offer excellent performance and value. Features include 4K Ultra HD video, dual monitor ports, gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and broad peripheral support.

Support for diverse desktop virtualization and remote access solutions:

  • Citrix: Virtual Apps and Desktops featuring:
    • Microsoft Teams Optimization
    • Browser Content Redirection (BCR)
  • Microsoft: Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 Cloud PC featuring:
    • Microsoft Teams Optimization
  • NComputing: VERDE VDI, VERDE Secure Browser, VERDE Remote Access, and vSpace Pro Enterprise.

Powered by LEAF OS for Raspberry Pi 5:

LEAF OS is our small Linux-based operating system designed specifically for secure, high-performance access to virtual desktops and cloud workspaces. Flexible in its deployment, LEAF OS enables user access to multiple virtual desktop platforms from thin clients and personal computers.

PMC Endpoint Manager: Central management & express deployment

RX540/580 devices are easy to configure using PMC Endpoint Manager software. Remotely manage devices over local and wide-area networks, including locations behind firewalls and NAT routers, through an easy-to-use web-based user interface. Define multiple device profile configurations, push to individual or grouped devices, and schedule firmware updates. A dashboard overview and detailed event log provide valuable information about your deployment. Easy to use for smaller organizations, yet powerful enough to manage large cross-organizational deployments across multiple geographic locations.

Local Browser and PWA (Progressive Web Application) support

RX540/580 includes a local Chromium that runs on the device, not through a virtualization platform. Direct access to the web via the Chromium browser eliminates virtualization lag. Microsoft Teams PWA benefits from direct audio/video relay, eliminating common concerns of web conferencing through virtual platforms. LEAF OS controls these apps’ availability and deployment method, with a Guest Mode option for Kiosk use.

Single or Dual Monitor configurations

The two HDMI ports allow it to be configured as a single display with a resolution of up to 4K @ 60Hz or a dual display configuration of up to 4k@30Hz. NComputing recommends a maximum resolution of 2560x1600 @30Hz for dual displays in DaaS and VDI sessions to ensure optimal performance.

Broad USB Peripheral Support

USB devices are transparently redirected and support mass storage, printers, scanners, smart card readers, headsets/speakers, webcams, COM ports, and 3D mice. Network-connected printers are also available.
